Dozens of free parking spaces in Midtown Harrisburg are going away next week.
New digital meters are going up in 88 spaces where parking currently is free.
Standard Parking says the new meters will be activated Tuesday.
Because parking will go from free to fee, there will be no charge for the first 15 minutes, but users will have to select that option once they have entered their license plate number.
The Midtown meters will charge $1.50 an hour, unlike the Downtown meters which cost $3 an hour.
