The newly named North Museum of Nature and Science is taking on a new look thanks to a $3.5 million renovation project.
The money will help turn the planetarium into a full-dome digital theater that will feature comprehensive elementary-though-college curricula.
The North Museum on College Avenue will be closed during construction. Programming and events will take place at “Nano North” at the corner of Water and Chestnut streets.
It opens Friday and its hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There is no admission charge.
The North Museum of Nature and Science is expected to reopen in late December or early January.
