Carlisle woman headed to trial for nursing home thefts

A Carlisle woman is headed to trial for stealing from several residents of a Cumberland County nursing home where she was employed.

Olivia A. Grenoble, 20, waived her preliminary hearing this week.

Grenoble stole cash and jewelry from residents and pawned some of the jewelry at a Carlisle jewelry store, according to Upper Allen Township police.

Authorities began investigating thefts at the assisted living facility in July and used video surveillance to identify Grenoble as the person responsible, police said.

When officers made contact with Grenoble at the facility, police said they also discovered that she had drug paraphernalia in her car.

She was charged last month with theft by unlawful taking and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A formal arraignment in Cumberland County Court is scheduled Dec. 18.
