The Department of Veterans Affairs is working to rebuild its image following a series of scandals concerning its hospitals.
Wednesday night, the Lebanon VA Hospital held a town hall meeting to hear the concerns of veterans.
VA hospitals across the country are holding similar meetings after a recent investigation found a systematic pattern of backlogs and false data.
The Lebanon VA hospital was flagged for an unofficial scheduling system. That was considered a minor infraction and it was quickly corrected.
“I’ve been dealing with this VA for over 15 years easy, and I had my ups and downs but hopefully, I try to keep positive with things and hopefully the positive road is ahead of me,” said Army vet Maurice Thompson.
The VA said the meeting would be open to the public, but they would not allow news cameras inside.
