Fire officials say two Adams county police officers didn’t shy away from danger when they saw the roof of a home on fire. They rushed in to save a man who was sleeping inside.
The fire happened at home along the first block of Spruce Lane in Oxford Township. There were reports that a man was inside sleeping in the basement. Fire officials say Eastern Adams Regional Police officers Tim Mulder and Larry Kitzmiller were first on scene and went inside of the burning home. Officer Mulder was able to find the man in the basement and get him out safely before the fire department arrived.
Crews were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes but the home was significantly damaged.
