All dressed up, bank bandit had nowhere to go

The early bird may catch the worm, but a man walked away empty handed when he tried to rob a Lebanon County bank Friday morning.

State police in Jonestown said the would-be bandit couldn’t get inside the Fulton Bank in Schafferstown because the doors were locked.

He donned a black mask while in the vestibule, but took off when he couldn’t get inside around 9:20 a.m.

The doors were locked because the bank at 1374 Heidelberg Avenue hadn’t opened yet.

Police are looking for the unknown man and hope someone can identify him from surveillance photos.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Jonestown barracks at 717-865-2194.
