No “Fun” in Fungus: Removing Mushrooms from your Lawn

Lawn mushrooms feed off of:

  • Old mulch
  • Animal waste
  • Rotting tree stumps

So if you rid your yard of those, you will help control the mushrooms.

You should also pick mushrooms as soon as they appear so they cannot spread their spores.

Some other tips:

  • Water your lawn less. (Most mushrooms are associated with over-watering.)
  • Aerate your soil
  • Apply nitrogen fertilizer
  • Use fungicides
