From August 21-23, police put out a non-stop pursuit to make Dauphin County a safer place, they called it Operation Flood.
The 72-hour enforcement assault was designed to reduce vehicle crashes, stop the movement of drugs/guns to and from the Harrisburg area and to remove wanted criminals from local communities.
The results show it was successful. It yielded 230 speeding citations, 44 DUI arrests, 433 citations, 12 prostitution arrests and 10 arrests relating to either drugs or guns – all in just one weekend.
Because of the success of Operation Flood, police say it’s more than likely they’ll be conducting similar operations more frequently.
