A man who won a new trial in the shooting death of a York woman nine years ago has been convicted a second time.
Ian Christopher Brenner, 33, was found guilty Friday of first-degree murder and all other counts following his retrial in York County court.
Authorities said Brenner was trying to shoot a rival gang member when stray bullets killed 46-year-old Anna Marie Witter outside her Duke Street home and injured two men in October 2005.
His conviction was overturned in May 2013 after state Superior Court agreed with his arguments that character witnesses should have been called in his defense.
His attorney told the Associated Press that Brenner rejected an offer to plead guilty to third-degree murder in exchange for a 25- to 50-year sentence.
