A York man has been arrested and charged in the death of a 1-year-old girl earlier this year.
Andrew Jae Becker, 33, was taken into custody Friday and jailed in York County Prison without bail, according to court documents.
The U.S. Marshal’s Service said Becker was arrested without incident in the 500 block of Linden Avenue.
York police have charged him with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in the child’s death March 16.
York County Coroner Pam Gay said Becker’s mother was babysitting Liliana Lunsford for a non-biological granddaughter.
Becker told authorities he fell asleep with the girl on his chest and found her dead when he awoke.
Gay said an autopsy and testing indicated the child had alcohol in her stomach and a blood-alcohol content of .04 percent.
The official cause of death is listed as undetermined but suspicious.
Gay added that there were some abrasions on the girl, but no injuries that would have contributed to her death.
Becker’s preliminary hearing was scheduled September 12.
