Lancaster man threatened to kill AG Kane, police say

A convicted sex offender has been charged with threatening to kill Attorney General Kathleen Kane and one of her employees.

Robert Michael Bourne, 50, made the threat in a phone call to the state attorney general’s office Wednesday, according to Lancaster police.

Bourne allegedly threatened that he would travel to Harrisburg to kill both Kane and the person who answered the call, police said.

Police said they charged Bourne with terroristic threats after they determined he made the call from a location on the 600 block of North Market Street in Lancaster.

He was jailed in Lancaster County Prison on $250,000 bail.

Bourne was convicted of indecent assault on a child in 2006, according to the Megan’s Law website, and court records indicate he was arrested in 2007 after he failed to register his address with police.
