A project to improve Middletown’s water and sewer infrastructure will move to its next phase Monday.
Borough spokesman Chris Courogen said work on South Union Street will shifts to the block between Emaus and Brown streets.
The next phase will begin with the placement of new pipes under the Middletown and Hummelstown Railroad tracks at the intersection of Brown and South Union.
South Union Street will be closed between Emaus and Brown streets, but plans call for only closing one cross street at a time, Courogen said.
This phase of the project is expected to take approximately four weeks.
Through-traffic on Route 441 will continue to use the Ann Street truck route as a detour.
The infrastructure work should be completed by November.
