Macy’s is closing its store in the West Manchester Mall.
The store will close in late September or early October following a final clearance sale that will begin Wednesday, according to a news release from the retailer.
Associates at the store were notified of the closing today, the company said.
Macy’s said the closing is “part of an ongoing process to selectively prune underperforming locations while opening new ones to fill gaps in local markets across the country.”
Associates displaced by the closing may be offered positions in other Macy’s stores.
Regular full-time and part-time associates who are laid off will be provided severance benefits and outplacement assistance, according to the retailer.
About 69 associates work at the store, which has been sold to the mall owner.
