Drivers headed to Lemoyne from Interstate 83 northbound will now have to use the new ramp to Lowther Street after the ramp to Third Street was permanently closed Thursday night.

To get to Third Street, drivers will have to take the new Exit 41-B ramp and turn left at the new traffic signal at the end of the ramp, then turn left at the next traffic signal, according to a PennDOT.

Exit 41-B is before the Route 581 interchange, and about a half-mile before the old Third Street ramp at Exit 42.

Traffic on Route 581 eastbound no longer has access to the ramp from I-83 North.

Those headed to Lemoyne from Route 581 East will have to use Exit 6-C to Lowther Street, turn right onto Lowther, then left onto Third.

The new traffic patterns are part of a $22.1 million project to improve the I-83/Route 581 interchange and adjacent ramps.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2015.
