Road work is scheduled to begin Sunday night on a four-mile section of Route 222 in Lancaster County.
Construction crews will begin preparing the northbound and southbound lanes for paving from Route 30 to just south of the Bushong Road overpass in Manheim Township, according to a PennDOT news release.
Drivers should expect short-term single-lane restrictions through the fall Sundays through Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
PennDOT spokesman Mike Crochunis said the contractor may choose to work Friday or Saturday nights if work is delayed by weather or other circumstances during the week.
The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
The $1.76 million project is funded entirely by the state’s new transportation plan.
