North Middleton man charged after shooting incident

Police have arrested a Cumberland County man in connection with an incident where gunshots were fired Sunday in North Middleton Township.

Douglas Taylor, 36, was in possession of heroin that was stolen from heroin dealers prior to the shooting incident Sunday at the intersection of Heather Drive and Cranes Gap Road, township police said Friday.

Taylor was charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they have been unsuccessful in identifying the person who fired a handgun after chasing the heroin thief through backyards of Heather Drive.

He was one of three males who were in a blue, late model Toyota, possibly a Corolla, witnesses saw at the intersection prior to the shooting, police said.

No one was injured.
