York man arrested for Megan’s Law violations

The U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested a York man after he failed to appear at trial for Megan’s Law violations.

29-year-old Vaughn Torrence was arrested around 6:30 a.m. on Friday at a home in the 400 block of South Duke Street in York.

Officials say they found Torrence hiding under a bed.

Torrence was convicted in August of 1998 of sexual assault meaning he is registered as a sex offender, required to meet the Megan’s Law requirements.

He allegedly failed to register an updated address and was required to appear in court. He failed to appear in court and an arrest warrant was issued for him.
