Work to close Route 441 ramp to I-283 tonight

Road construction work scheduled to begin Wednesday night will close the ramp from Route 441 northbound to Interstate 283 near Harrisburg.

The ramp will close at 9 p.m. and should reopen before 6 a.m., according to a PennDOT news release.

While crews pave an initial layer of asphalt on the ramp, drivers will be detoured by way of southbound I-283 to the interchange with Route 283, then on eastbound Route 283 to the ramp for northbound I-283.

This work is part of a $5.6 million project to repair and resurface I-283 between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Eisenhower Interchange in Swatara and Lower Swatara townships.
