A Harrisburg man was arrested and police are looking for his alleged accomplice following a home burglary in Hampden Township, Cumberland County.
Police said they arrested 32-year-old Marcelino Heredia and charged him with burglary, conspiracy and theft for a break-in Tuesday afternoon in the 6300 block of Creekview Road.
According to charging documents, the home owner saw a green van pull into her driveway before a man rang her doorbell and then walked to her back door.
She said she retreated upstairs and heard a door being forced open and a person entering her home, so she hid in a closet and called 911.
Police said Heredia was in the driver’s seat of the van when they arrived, and a second man fled the home on foot.
The glass was broken from the back patio door, upstairs drawers had been rummaged through, and a pillow case with jewelry from the home was found at the foot of the steps, police said in the court papers.
A purse and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun were missing from the home, police said.
