Police in Ephrata arrested a Lancaster man twice in the span of two hours for theft.

According to authorities, 27-year-old Justice Speller was caught trying to steal over $400 in merchandise from the Walmart at 890 East Main Street in Ephrata Saturday at 4:30 a.m.

Speller was released around 6 a.m., at which time he planned to walk back to his car at Walmart

Within ten minutes, police spotted Speller riding a mountain bike on East Main Street.

Because officers knew Speller didn’t have a bike with him when he was released, they stopped him, at which time Speller admitted to stealing the bike from a home on the first block of West Main Street.

Speller was charged with retail theft and theft by unlawful taking.
