Officials resumed a search Friday for a fisherman who disappeared while boating on the Conewago Creek near Dover.
The man, named Jerry according to family and friends, was fishing in a rowboat with another man when they went over a low-head dam in Washington Township around 2 p.m. Thursday.
The other man made his way to shore and called for help.
Search teams searched about four miles of the creek and its banks with the help of a helicopter for about five hours Thursday.
Officials said neither man was wearing a life vest when they launched their boat about 100 yards upstream of the dam and below the first of two warning signs.
By the time they saw the reached the second warning sign, authorities said it was too late for the men to fight the strong current of the creek, which had been swelled by recent rains.
