The Rainbow Hills Swim Club has been a big attraction in Dauphin County for 50 years, but the pool wasn’t going to open this summer because club officials said their grant request was denied by the county.
The LeSean McCoy foundation donated $10,000.
Club manager Tom Connolly said the money will help fund much needed repair work and the pool will open for the remainder of the 2014 season.
“We still have to get members and we have to do some things on our own, but we have enough to get on our feet and we have to move forward,” Connolly said.
Connolly says Rainbow Hills still has some long-term financial problems that will need to be worked out. Volunteers will be working during the next several days to try and get the pool open by the weekend.
