It has been 18 days seen anyone has seen or heard from 27-year-old Erica Lynn Klinger.
Police recovered her car in Harrisburg after receiving several tips. They said surveillance cameras show Maria Lara and Luis Lugo-Davila were driving the car near the Hollywood Motel on Richardson Road in Lower Swatara Township.
State police spotted the couple in Harrisburg and attempted to arrest them.
“They had ditched the vehicle, but they were both in Harrisburg on foot when our units arrived. We were able to apprehend the female. That is when the male took off on foot,” Trooper Robert Hicks said.
Lara is in Dauphin County Prison on charges of theft, hindering apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police are still looking for Lugo-Davila.
“Of course, we want to speak to him in connection with this case,” Hicks said.
Klinger’s mother says the family is hoping the recovery of her daughter’s 2000 black Chevrolet Malibu might lead to Erica’s whereabouts.
“We do understand how they got her car. I feel empty. My stomach feels like it is being ripped out. My heart feels like it is being ripped out,” Michelle Klinger said.
Klinger’s family has been posting flyers and searching day and night, but as days turn into weeks Erica’s mother is fearing the worst.
“I want to know that she is OK and alive,” Michelle Klinger said. “I want to know she is alive. If someone has her, let her go. I am trying not to think about if something serious happened to her. That has been going through my head. I do not know. I just want my baby girl back.”
Erica Klinger is 4’11” tall, 115 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She has a tattoo on her right neck area and a tattoo of footprints on her left forearm.
She was last seen leaving her job at the Kwik Fill at 6479 Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg on June 8.
