A Carlisle man was arrested after police say they searched his home and found not only some of the stolen property they were looking for, but deplorable living conditions.
Douglas W. Miller, of 444 Fairground Avenue, had a stolen jewelry box and prescription medications that did not belong to him, Carlisle police said in a news release.
Police said they were investigating a burglary near Miller’s home Wednesday when they learned he was in possession of the stolen items.
In addition to the deplorable living conditions, police said Miller had no electricity to the home.
The borough has since condemned the residence.
Miller was arrested on two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of possession of narcotics.
He was placed in Cumberland County Prison on a parole detainer.
