Interstate 83 at the York Split was closed for about an hour during the morning commute because of live electrical wires on the highway.
PennDOT spokesman Greg Penny said the electrical wires were knocked down by a construction vehicle.
The interstate was closed in both directions soon after 7 a.m. to traffic between the New Cumberland and Lemoyne exits.
PPL removed the live wires and the highway reopened shortly after 8 a.m.
The driver of the construction vehicle was treated at a hospital after sustaining an electrical shock in the incident.
A PPL spokesman said 700 customers in the area lost electricity service. Power had been restored to all but 120 customers by noon, and full service restoration was expected by 2:30 p.m.
