Police arrest smash-and-grab burglary suspect

State police have arrested 54-year-old David Roy Guisewhite, the suspect of a smash-and-grab burglary in Dauphin County.

Guisewhite is accused of using a rock to smash the front glass door of the Sunoco gas station at 2200 Old Trail Road in Etters, then stealing more than $3,900 in cigarettes on May 24.

He was arrested just before 4 a.m. Friday when police say he was found to be operating a stolen vehicle, with 58 cartons of suspected stolen cigarettes inside.

According to police, there was a foot pursuit and police used a Taser device to help apprehend him.

Officials discovered Guisewhite had multiple felony warrants from both Pennsylvania and other states for burglary, robbery, theft and theft of a motor vehicle.

He was taken to the Dauphin County Judicial Center for processing and arraignment.
