A Lancaster County woman has been arrested following allegations she had an intimate relationship with a 17-year-old resident of a Millersville placement home for teen boys in foster care while she worked there as a staff member.
Rikki Lynn Salzman, 31, of Landisville, is accused of having sexual contact with the teen on multiple occasions between July and December 2012 while he was staying at Arborvale Manor, Millersville police said in a criminal complaint.
The teen told investigators that he and Salzman were involved in an intimate relationship that included hugging and kissing, and another resident said he witnessed the two engaging in intimate contact, police said.
Arborvale Manor administrators also provided investigators with surveillance video that showed an inappropriate interaction between Salzman and the boy, along with logs that documented meetings held with Salzman to discuss a variety of inappropriate and unprofessional interactions between her and residents, according to the complaint.
Salzman, who was suspended and then terminated from Arborvale Manor, was charged Wednesday with third-degree felony counts of institutional sexual assault of a minor, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.
She was released on $100,000 unsecured bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled June 13.
