A former Middletown man has been sentenced to 13 to 26 years in state prison for molesting a girl for several years.
Nathaniel T. Garfield, 30, was sentenced in Dauphin County court Friday before Judge Richard Lewis, who also found that Garfield met the criteria to be classified as a sexually violent predator.
Garfield was convicted during a jury trial in January 2014 on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors.
Prosecutors said Garfield molested the girl on multiple occasions over four years, beginning when she was 12 years old.
Because he was declared a sexually violent predator, Garfield will have to register his address with police and receive monthly counseling for the rest of his life.
