Drivers who use Route 225 between Dauphin and Halifax may cross Peters Mountain once again.
The roadway reopened to traffic around noon Friday after three weeks of construction work.
Route 225 had been closed over the mountain since May 5 so that crews could work on sections of the embankment and strengthen a deteriorating shoulder on the northern side, according to PennDOT.
A repair and resurfacing project is scheduled to begin in August for nearly six miles of Route 225 between Route 325 in Middle Paxton Township and Route 147 in Halifax Township.
PennDOT says nearly 9,000 vehicles cross Peters Mountain on Route 225 on a daily basis.
