Republican pollster Jim Lee of Susquehanna Polling & Research shared some of his thoughts on elections and on next Tuesday’s primary in particular.
“You’re likely to see turnout, in my opinion, hit 35, 40, maybe 45 percent,” he said.
The governor’s race will bring out voters on the Democratic side, but not nearly as much as if it were a presidential election. Lee says the race is Tom Wolf’s to lose.
Lee says Rob McCord probably won’t win, but may end up with more votes than expected next week.
“Because he has the best ground game from what we’ve heard, because he’s got the unions and the teachers kind of working for him in a Democratic primary,” Lee said. “That counts for something.”
Lee said that McCord’s negative campaign ads against Wolf have not cut into his lead much, if at all.
