Employee charged with arson at UPS storage building

A Palmyra man has been jailed on charges stemming from a large fire that damaged a storage building at the UPS terminal in suburban Harrisburg.

Thadeus Austin, 31, is accused of setting the fire in a large plastic dumpster on the night of March 22, according to Swatara Township police.

The fire spread to a large pile of pallets and damaged an exterior wall and the roof of a the storage building adjacent to the main terminal at 1821 S. 19th Street.

Austin, a UPS employee, was charged with one count of arson endangering property and committed to Dauphin County Prison pending a preliminary hearing.
