A York County man has been held for trial in a murder-for-hire plot.
A district judge on Friday found enough evidence against 46-year-old Gregory Allen Hess to send the case to county court. A formal arraignment is scheduled June 20.
Prosecutors say Hess, of Seven Valleys, was going to pay $30,000 to have someone kill a male acquaintance of his wife and promised an extra $1,900 as a bonus.
After the man hired for the hit called police, investigators said they set up a ruse with the would-be target to convince Hess that the murder had been carried out, including photographs of the man bound in the trunk of a car.
Hess is charged with solicitation of criminal homicide and criminal use of a communication facility.
He remains in York County Prison without bail.
