A bump in the road could be a sign of something much more serious.
That was the case in Penbrook, where crews spent the day Thursday repairing a sinkhole in the middle of Forney Street.
The hole was caused by a collapsed 30-inch storm sewer drain, but no one knew it was there until a trash hauler felt a bump in the road that wasn’t there before and then found an 8-inch hole.
He notified the borough, and crews then uncovered a 7-foot hole under the street.
The pipe is around 70 years old, and two feet of it caved in.
