A 16-year-old is in custody after police say he brought a homemade weapon on to a Central Dauphin High School bus this afternoon.
School officials say the driver of bus 8100 was given a note stating there was a weapon on the bus.
Police and school officials were called to Route 39 at Brynfield Way in West Hanover Township around 3 p.m. where they found the student in possession of a homemade type of weapon that included parts of a scissor.
The male student was taken into custody.
Central Dauphin released this statement, “The police are investigating. Since this is a disciplinary matter, we cannot comment further. However, we greatly appreciate the student who immediately made a report to the driver. It is that kind of vigilance that may help prevent a bad situation from becoming worse.”
No one was injured. At this time, the incident is still under investigation.
