Bank robbed in Columbia

Police are looking for the man who robbed the Union Community Bank in Columbia this afternoon.

Borough police said the man handed a note demanding money to a teller, but displayed no weapon during the robbery just after 2 p.m.

He then fled with the cash, jumped into a silver or gray late model GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado four-door pickup truck, and left the parking lot heading west on Lancaster Avenue, police said.

The pickup had a Pennsylvania license plate that had been reported stolen from the Lehigh Valley, police said.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect and the truck.

Anyone who can identify him is asked to call Columbia police at 717-684-7735.
