Possible child luring reported in Lower Paxton

Police are investigating a possible child luring incident this morning in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County.

An 8-year-old girl was walking to her bus stop in the 200 block of Lopax Road, with her mother about 20-30 feet behind her, when a red Jeep Cherokee pulled up to the child at around 8:40 a.m., police said.

Two men in the Jeep rolled down a window and spoke to the girl. Police said the mother, who ran to her daughter when she saw what was happening, heard one of the men say, “Come on. Come here.”

The men took off when the mother reached the Jeep.

Police said the Cherokee was a mid-1990's model and the two occupants were white men with short cut hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Paxton police at 717-657-5656 or the department's anonymous tip line at 717-724-8317.
