A man found dead in his York County apartment during a fire Wednesday
morning died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to investigators.

Deputy
Coroner Claude Stabley identified the man as 62-year-old Thomas Bedrin.

Bedrin was found dead during a fire in his second-floor apartment at 625 Pleasant View Road in Lewisberry, but Stabley said an autopsy Thursday showed he died prior to any heat-related damage to his body.

The manner of death is pending further investigation by Fairview Township police and a state police fire marshal, which could take several weeks.

Stabley said it appears Bedrin took his own life.

The
fire was primarily contained to the bedroom and caused about $35,000 in
damage. The cause is still under investigation.
