1 arrested, 1 sought after college student stabbed

State police in Lancaster made an arrest and are searching for a second person after a student at Thaddeus Stevens College was stabbed in the hand.

According to officials, the 19-year-old victim was in his dorm room in the 700 block of East King Street, Lancaster City on Thursday around 11:50 p.m.

The victim told police he answered a knock on his door, at which time two people forced their way into his dorm room.

Once inside they displayed knives and demanded money and drugs. When the victim tried to flee, one of the intruders cut the victim's left hand, resulting in a serious tendon laceration.

Police said the victim was familiar with the man who stabbed his hand and, after a brief search, state police and Lancaster City police were able to identify and locate him.

The 17-year-old suspect was arraigned and given $75,000 in bail, then committed to Lancaster County Prison.

Authorities are still searching for the second intruder.
