Eight people were displaced after an overnight fire destroyed a home in Highspire.

The fire started around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the home on the 600 block of Second Street.  Several crews raced to the scene.  When they got there, the fire was coming from the back of the home.

We're told five adults and three children all made it out safely.  The American Red Cross is now assisting those people.  No one was injured.

Investigators are trying to figure out what started the fire.
