Lemoyne copper theft, burglary may be linked to others

A theft of copper piping during a home burglary in Lemoyne this week may be linked to similar crimes in the borough last month, police said.

West Shore Regional police said the home in the 500 block of S. 3rd Street had a door forced open and all copper pipes removed from the water system.

The break-in was discovered at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Copper pipes were stolen during burglaries of four vacant homes in February.

Police said those break-ins occurred in the 800 block of Hummel Avenue, the 600 block of Bosler Avenue, and the 300 and 400 blocks of Herman Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Shore Regional Police Department at 717-238-9676.
