Man arrested for cashing counterfeit checks

Police said they have arrested a Maryland man who cashed three counterfeit checks at three separate Members 1st Federal Credit
Union locations in the Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill area.

James Thomas Harrison, 29, of Frederick, Md., used the bogus checks to withdraw more than $2,700 from the account of an Upper Allen Township business on Feb. 24, township police said.

Harrison was charged Thursday with forgery, access device fraud, bad checks, and theft by deception.

His bail at Cumberland County Prison was set at $10,000.
