An 18-year-old senior at J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster was arrested Thursday after he was found to be in possession of an unloaded handgun, city police said.
Darnell Greene was removed from class in the morning without incident after school officials learned he had the gun, police said.
He did not have any ammunition or a magazine for the Ruger .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun, police said.
Greene was also found to be in possession of a small amount of
marijuana, according to police.
He faces charges of possession of a weapon on school property, firearms not to be carried without a license, and possession of a small amount marijuana.
