A man wanted on outstanding warrants led police in Pennsylvania and Maryland on a high-speed chase that twice crossed the state line Thursday afternoon.
Washington Township police said an officer tried to stop 25-year-old Joshua Gingell in the area of Buchanan Trail East and Midvale Road, but Gingell began a pursuit in which he passed vehicles in no-passing zones, passed on the right, drove in opposing lanes of traffic, and reached speeds upwards of 95 mph.
The chase went across the state line and was joined by a Maryland State Police trooper before Gingell returned to Pennsylvania and was stopped and arrested in the Michaux State Forest, police said.
Gingell was sent to Franklin County Prison on the outstanding warrants, which include charges of accidents involving
death or personal injury, hit and run, and driving without a license.
Police said they will additionally charge him with a felony count of fleeing and eluding and numerous traffic violations.
