Police are still searching for at least two suspects after a teenage girl was shot in the head Thursday afternoon.

The shooting occurred on the first block of West Pomfret Street around 3 p.m. outside of a convenience store.

The victim was sent to Carlisle Regional Medical Center and was listed in stable condition Thursday night, police said.

Multiple shots were fired. Another female was grazed by a bullet in the arm. The round went through her clothing and she was not injured.

Officials do not believe the girls were the intended targets. They also do not believe the shooting was a random act.

Investigators, including those with The Cumberland County District Attorney's office forensic unit, were on scene during the evening.

At one point Carlisle Police were seen digging for evidence in the snow on the first block of South Hanover Street.

A short time later, a man was taken into custody at a nearby apartment. Police tell abc27 they believe the man is somehow connected to the shooting.

The shooting remains under investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Carlisle police at 243-5252.
