3-alarm fire damages Carlisle home

Firefighters said they battled through newspapers stacked to the ceiling as they tackled a three-alarm blaze in a Carlisle home this morning.

The fire started in a duplex in the 300 block of W. North Street around 10:45 a.m.

Officials said a woman who lived in the right side of the duplex was not home. The left side of the duplex was unoccupied.

Neighbors described the woman as a hoarder and said she kept a lot of paper, plastic and cardboard stored inside her home.
