Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse took a break from budgets and crime Friday afternoon to officiate weddings.
Papenfuse performed the nuptials for two couples at a ceremony at City Hall.
The couples said they wanted to be the first to be married by Papenfuse, so to honor the wishes of both couples, Papenfuse held a special double ceremony to join them simultaneously.
“It's Friday afternoon, it's been a really long, hard week doing the business of Harrisburg. It seemed like it was an appropriate time to celebrate,” the mayor said.
