Basketball team plays 1st home game following student death

The Steelton–Highspire High School Boy's Varsity Basketball team played
its first game since the passing of 18-year-old student and basketball
player Hauson Baltimore–Greene, Jr.

Before the game there was a moment of silence for Baltimore-Greene, Jr. His jersey was also draped from the press box.

Players, fans and friends bowed their heads, paying tribute to the Steel-High student and basketball player who was shot in Harrisburg on Saturday, Jan. 19. Baltimore-Greene, Jr. later died at the hospital.

Many said the game was about remembering a joyful young man and helping those who miss him.

“As a coach just got to kind of be the rock, be behind [the players] and keep them moving forward, keeping them moving forward together,” Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach Tigh Savercool said.

Steel-High faced off against Milton Hershey. The Steamrollers won the game 76 to 53.
