Mom arrested for intimidating witnesses in son’s assault case

A Harrisburg woman has been arrested for intimidating witnesses who were set to testify against her teenage son in an assault case.

Gina M. Murray, 46, paid the victim $100 to write a coached
letter that exonerated her son, and witnesses told authorities they
were repeatedly harassed in an attempt to silence their testimony, according to the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office.

Murray was arrested Thursday at the preliminary hearing for her son, 17-year-old Shakwon Jamison, who was arrested Oct. 19 after he fired a gun at a classmate in the 1800 block of Green Street, prosecutors said.

Jamison has been charged as an adult with aggravated assault, carrying a concealed firearm without a license, possession of a firearm by a minor, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

He is being held on $200,000 at Dauphin County Prison.

His mother is jailed at the prison on $50,000 bail.
