Penn State may have found its new head football coach.
Vanderbilt coach James Franklin has reportedly ben offered the job. The Scranton Times Tribune is reporting that he will make a decision sometime Thursday.
Franklin has been at Vanderbilt for the past three seasons, winning 16 of his last 20 games.
Franklin went to high school in Pennsylvania and was a star on East Stroudsburg University's football team.
Franklin's name has always been included as one of the candidates to replace Bill O'Brien, who recently took the position of head coach with the Houston Texans. Franklin has also been mentioned as a possible NFL coaching candidate as well.
Sources say Franklin was offered the job by the Penn State search committee Wednesday night and an announcement could come as early as Thursday.
