Police in Dauphin County are attempting to identify a woman as part of their investigation into a bank fraud case.
Lower Paxton Township police said they have been investigating several incidents where debit cards and
PINs have been used to deposit counterfeit checks into accounts without
the owner's knowledge.
The cash is then withdrawn from those
accounts when the funds become legally available, but before the
banks receive verification that the checks are bogus, police said.
Investigators have released a surveillance photo of the woman from a Colonial Park-area bank ATM. Her role in the incidents is unknown at this time, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Paxton police at 717-657-5656 or the department's anonymous tip line at 717-724-8317.
